Splinting of teeth is the combining of several teeth to the single system with the purpose of removal of teeth mobility and dental fastening. Splinting of teeth is one of modern methods of treatment of parodontium.
It is recommended to conduct splinting of teeth:
● dislocation of teeth because of traumatic impact ● with gum recession ● when the roots of the tooth are exposed ● with fractures of the upper, lower jaw, alveolar ridge ● with multiple defects of teeth ● with shifts and misplaced teeth ● in the presence of calculus, dental deposits accumulated at the root of the tooth ● in the presence of strong dentogingival pockets ● in the presence of gum disease accompanied by bleeding ● when the detention is loosened, with atrophy of alveolar ridge
Fiberglass splinting of mobile teeth will allow to preserve their aesthetic appearance, in comparison with splinting of teeth where metallic or aramid yarns are used.
