Treatment of cancer of bones and soft tissues

● Sarcoma of bones

Sarcomas of bones are differed by peculiarities of the clinical course which can grow slowly or quickly, give metastases late or early. Sarcomas can be localized in different skeletal system bones, but most often in the femoral, shin and upper arm bones. The most frequent forms of sarcoma of bones are osteosarcoma, Ewing sarcoma, chondrosarcoma. The diagnostics of sarcoma of bones is carried out mainly by roentgen, morphological examinations, and for estimation of the treatment efficiency computer and magnetic resonance tomography is carried out. At the treatment of sarcoma of bones the surgical method, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are used.


● Sarcoma of soft tissues

Sarcomas of soft tissues include a large group of malignant tumors which are differed by their clinical course, prognosis and treatment method. The tumors which have been formed from adipose, muscular, fibrous tissues, synovial joint membrane and from blood vessels are most frequently met. The clinical evidence of sarcoma of soft tissues manifests itself as a slowly growing tumor. Sarcomas are divided into highly malignant ones, which are prone to distant metastases, and low malignant ones, which metastasize less often, but are prone to the development of disease recurrence. The sarcoma diagnostics is carried out by ultrasonic examination, roentgen, magnetic resonance tomography and tumor biopsy. The degree of sarcoma malignancy is established by the morphological examination. The main treatment methods are surgical method, radiotherapy, chemotherapy.
