● Prostate cancer
The most common, noncancerous diseases of prostate are prostatitis and benign hyperplasia. At benign hyperplasia prostate increases in sizes and constricts the urinary tract.
Benign hyperplasia of prostate is not a tumor and cannot pass to the cancerous disease. Nevertheless, benign hyperplasia and prostatitis can be observed together with the cancer of prostate. Of cancerous diseases of prostate adenocarcinoma is met most often, transient cell carcinoma and epidermoid carcinoma are met less often. Transrectal ultrasonic study, transrectal biopsy of prostate, computer tomography of pelvic organs, osteoscintigraphy allow to determine whether the tumor of prostate is malignant. If the result is positive, these examinations will help to determine the cancer stage and presence of metastases. The main methods of treatment the prostate cancer are the surgical method, radiotherapy and hormonal therapy.
● Penile cancer
The main method of diagnostics of penile cancer is incision, excision and thin needle biopsy. For determination of the presence or absence of metastases and determination of the cancer stage the ultrasonic examination of inguinal regions and pelvic organs, computer tomography or magnetic resonance imaging and roentgenography of thoracic cage are conducted. The main methods of treatment of penile cancer are micrographic surgery, laser surgery, cryodestruction, circumcision, radiotherapy, chemiotherapy.
● Testicular cancer
For determination of the presence of testicular tumor the ultrasonic examination is used. At the presence of testicular tumor the ultrasonic examination of abdominal cavity organs and retroperitoneal space for detection of metastases are conducted. In addition, blood count is conducted in order to determine tumor markers in it. At the timely detection of testicular cancer at the early stage and prescription of the proper treatment the cancer is in most cases cured. At the treatment delay the cancerous cells can give metastases to other organs and tissues within some months. The main methods of treatment of testicular cancer are the surgical method, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
