Treatment of cancer of lungs and mesothelioma

Lungs and pleura are most frequently amenable to cancer diseases. We’ll consider the main methods of diagnostics and treatment.

At the treatment of lung cancer a surgical method is mainly used. After conducting the examination the volume of operative intervention is determined. The use of the high-tech videotorascopic techniques allows to perform the operation on lungs through small cuts of chest wall, and consequently, to decrease the operation traumatism. At the treatment of lung cancer chemotherapy and radiotherapy can be additionally prescribed.

Mesothelioma is an oncologic disease that is developed in the tissue lining the surface of thoracic, abdominal or cardiac cavity. Main methods of mesothelioma treatment is the conductance of intrapleural perfusion thermochemiotherapy, surgical treatment and polychemotherapy.
