Tumor of the gastrointestinal tract can affect the stomach, colon and rectum, esophagus, rectosigmoid junction.
● Cancer of stomach
About 90-95% of stomach tumors are malignant. The craftiness of this disease lies in the fact that at the early stages it has no evident manifestations, and the symptoms are similar to chronic gastritis, stomach ulcer, duodenal ulcer, pancreatitis, cholecystitis. Therefore the discovery of a malignant tumor at the early stage of its development allows to proceed timely to the treatment and defeat the disease.
● Colon cancer
A human’s colon consists of blind intestine, segmented intestine, rectum. The risk factors of development of the cancer of rectum and colon (colorectal cancer) is the nature of a human food, genetic factors. The proven genetic factors are total adenomatous polyposis and hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer (Lynch syndrome). Nevertheless, in most cases the colorectal cancer is not connected with hereditary factors. The modern methods of study allow to discover the disease at early stages, when there are yet no clinical manifestations of the disease
● Esophagus cancer
Esophagus is a hollow muscle tube along which a solid and liquid food comes from pharynx to stomach. As a rule the esophagus tumor develops in the mucin layer. Adenocarcinoma and epidermoid carcinoma are its most frequent forms. The main methods of esophagus treatment are chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgical method.
